What is CBG?

When it comes to cannabinoids, one size does not fit all. We're still discovering the benefits of the hundreds of cannabinoids, CBG being one of them. While CBD will always be the favorite child, CBG may offer its unique advantages.

What Is Cannabigerol (CBG)?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is a type of cannabinoid acquired from the cannabis plant. It has earned the name of "the mother of all cannabinoids" because other cannabinoids are derived from cannabigerol acid (CBGA), an acidic form of CBG.

How CBG Is Made
CBG is derived from young cannabis plants because they contain higher amounts of CBG than fully developed plants. Fully developed plants with high THC and CBD concentrations of CBG because both CBD and THC start as CBGA, an acidic form of CBG.

Potential Benefits

Like CBD, CBG has been used to combat pain without having the intoxicating effect of cannabinoids like THC. Studies have shown that CBG may also have therapeutic effects; however, human studies are sparse. Some promising animal studies show that CBG might ultimately be found useful on a variety of medical conditions.

CBG has also been linked to increased focus, attention and energy by working with the same neurotransmitters in your body as CBD would but with an impressive ability to act as a neuroprotectant. Furthermore, CBG may also block serotonin receptors, showing potential antidepressant ability.

You can find CBG, combined with green coffee bean extract and vitamins in our Peak Effect ampules, available now!
