How HydraFacials Work

How HydraFacials Work

Beauty treatments are constantly improving, and most of the time specifically targeted towards one "skin type." HydraFacials, however, are different.

If you are unfamiliar with the HydraFacial, here's the deal: "HydraFacial is a non-invasive treatment that nourishes your skin and creates an instantly gratifying glow. This system provides the same revitalizing benefits as chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing without the irritation. The HydraFacial system involves a three-step process: cleanse, extract, and hydrate." according to the experts at McGuiness Dermatology.

Beyond the standard three steps, you can really customize your treatment, however you'd like. Using boosters, any patient can address skin concerns, from acne to hyperpigmentation, to fine lines.

The process begins with gentle cleansing to get rid of any makeup or dirt on the face. You can tack on an additional Dermaplaning treatment into your facial at this point. This works to exfoliate your face prior to treatment and helps to rid your skin dead skin and hairs from the face and helps to amplify the effects of the HydraFacial.

Then, your esthetician will use Witch Hazel and Salicylic acid to help balance and treat the skin. They follow this up with extraction, getting rid of any gunk or spots, so your face is perfection by the time you're done.

This is where red light therapy comes in. "It's great for signs of aging. It's also great for redness and calms all irritation," said Sarah, esthetician at McGuiness Dermatology.

Once your treatment is done, you'll come out exfoliated, hydrated, and replenished. It's followed up with moisturizer and sunscreen, so your pretty fresh skin is protected.
