JENNA'S MVP LIST: JUNE EDIT

THE MVP LIST

Well it seems I didn’t catch the running bug after all. I can’t tell you how many people told me I would sign up for a full marathon shortly after finishing my first half. I don’t foresee this happening yet at least. It’s funny how I didn’t particularly want to run a half. I was encouraged by a friend (who ended up hurt before the race) and ultimately I ran alone. Well with 10 thousand other incredible women, but alone nonetheless.

Running can be really life changing. There are no barriers to doing it in terms of financials. Sure, there’s fancy gear but it’s not needed. Overall running with an goal has done wonders for my mental health. As much as I also hated it at times, I slept better, ate better, saw so much of a new incredibly city, spent more quality time with Francisco, and had just better mental health. Running made me more motivated in all facets of my life day to day.

Now the downside of course is how tired and achy I often felt. Also the commitment doesn’t allow for many other hobbies. But no great accomplishment comes easy. It became clear to me that goal setting is the best way to stay consistent with anything.

So though a full may be a little out of reach (and desire) for me, I’m onto another goal. Spanish fluency. Hasta luego:)

Xx
